Aishwarya’s latest single “Aadha Kamra” explores the infinite room of our dreams which never ends weaving its thoughts one after the other.

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

Aadha Kamra is a song about hope. about longing. it’s about joy in what little we have. how the idea of queerness is always in bargain with the world. we want the world but a room is all we have. we want all the music in the world but are allowed only a few moments of silence. and yet we keep fighting. so it’s a song about this bargain that isn’t settled for just made do with for a little while.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The song as well as its music video explores the lived realities of queerness as well as the glorious futurisms imagined by queer people. Delving into the idea of how queerness is always in bargain with the world, materially and otherwise. It’s a song about this bargain which isn’t settled for but made do for a little while. It is about taking back power, first in dreams and then in reality.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

We wrote, composed, recorded, and mixed and mastered the track with our team within a week. We had to fix and redo some bits which took a little more than we thought but overall we did it quite quickly and efficiently. The resources used were limited but we made it with a lot of love.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

There is an inane fantasy for a better place in all of us especially those that have been kept out of the vibrant imaginations of the world. ‘Aadha Kamra’ is about an alternative imagination. It’s about the infinity of a room that is built on dreams.

What brings next after this release?

We want our song to be heard more and more. We believe that we have poured out heart and soul into this writing and singing so we want to touch lives and connect to people as much as possible. We want our music to be relatable to queer people and their experiences. It may be seen as hopeful towards the future for our community and for love.
