Black Beaches by Dayve is journey to find solace after you lose a loved one and grieve with pain.

“An “elegy” is a poem to dead love. The song that was initially a poem talks about how even after losing someone you love, you still find solace. The tune was set and with a basic chord progression; I decided to jot it down and make something out of it, later on getting produced by one of my band mates. Even with pain I felt free, free of the bond that was holding me down. That heartbreak can even make something beautiful, this song was born out of a break up back in 2018.” – Dayve

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

The song that was initially a poem talks about how even after losing someone you love, you still find solace. That heartbreak can even make something beautiful, this song was born out of a break up back in 2018 and an “elegy” is a poem to dead love. The song was then given to my band in 2020 which disbanded a year later. With me being the sole writer to this song I decided to re-record and release it under my stage name.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

I woke up this morning with the words painfully engraved into my mind, it felt like a dream, but even with pain I felt free, free of the bond that was holding me down. The tune was set and with a basic chord progression; I decided to jot it down and make something out of it, later on getting produced by one of my band mates.

The song was given to my band in 2020 which disbanded a year later. With me being the sole writer to this song I decided to re-record and release it under my stage name.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

Since it was a re-recording, it wasn’t much of a hassle so the only things new in this version is my vocals and the mix of the track. I would say a few days maximum.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

Standing in a dreamy beach, somewhere far off, with every wash of the waves against my feet I can feel the memories of the person in my past wash along with it. Clear skies indicating new form and new beginnings, and with every tide I feel anew.

What brings next after this release?

A few remixes and features are in store for the coming weeks, and bigger than that would be… my 8th studio album is almost done and will be out soon after these releases are through.
