Majestic is a journey through the heart’s inner forest. It combines soulful woodland sounds with electronic dance music, and the voices fully engross themselves in this gem. In a way, writing over Majestic was empowering because it transported me to the jungle, where I was free to be who I truly am as an animal, independent of social expectations and able to follow my own path.
We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!
Tell us about your track
Majestic is an exploration of the jungle that is your heart. Awoken from slumber to find yourself to be someone else, a beast that wants to sever all ties and break free. It’s an amalgamation of electronic dance music with soulful sounds of the forest, and the vocals immerse themselves in this treasure.
Tell us your inspiration behind this track
Majestic was first produced and then written over. When I heard this song, it ignited something within. I was in an emotionally transitional phase at the time and the pressures of the world felt like they were weighing me down. Writing over Majestic was in a sense liberating, because it took me away to the forest where I could be my true animal self, free from societal norms, free to choose my own path, in the sky.
How long did it take to record the track album EP ?
Vocal production took about a couple of days to be done with. However post production took about 9 months because we were trying to perfect the song. This was another learning lesson for us because eventually we realised there would be no ‘perfect version’. It just needs to feel right within. We had to focus on what pleased ourselves the most instead of what would please the audience.
What is the meaning behind the lyrics?
The lyrics speak about finally waking up one day and taking charge of your life. Being brave enough to end the lies you have been living and break free. The way I envisioned it, I had entered a new world, I was reborn an animal and no one could keep me chained anymore. It then turns out that this is not a dream, I have woken up and now I’m a beast who recognises my her worth.
What brings next after this release?
The next song I’m releasing is called “Leaving for Good”, which is a sad break up song within the pop realm. It releases on all platforms on September 9th 2022.
