Tell us your inspiration behind this track

When I first heard the beat, it just spoke to me, I was done composing the song on the same day. The lyrics that I wrote came from my life at the time. I was spending a lot of nights outside in the city, saw a lot of things, and I wanted people to experience a side of Mumbai they don’t hear about that often as some of the subjects mentioned are sort of a taboo in our culture, yet it is our reality.

How long did it take to record the track \album \EP ?

So Cold was my first original song that I ever recorded, so it took a little while to get ready. Me and BBonthebeat recorded this track at a studio located in a jungle in Thane since that’s all we could manage at the time. We had about 3 recording sessions from October to November, and the mixing and mastering was done by December.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

The lyrics put the darker reality of Mumbai’s nightlife through the eyes of a young man. It’s beautiful in its own way, but it ain’t how it is shown in, say, Bollywood music videos. I flipped that formula on its belly and exposed the real underside of the city that you witness in these streets at 3 am. I love the idea of taking these dark, taboo concepts and presenting them beautifully, something enjoyable to listen to. People don’t talk about these things because they sound as ugly as they are, until now, since you can hear me singing about them *wink wink*.

What brings next after this release?

I wanted So Cold to be my first song, it is my element. I’m working on releasing my next single, it’s gonna be a banger, something you can dance to, but with a little bit of my own twist to it, as usual.
