Saptarshi De, a 19 year old, singer/songwriter/producer from Assam, popularly known by his alias Zodiac Wave, grew up in an environment, where music and other artistic pursuits were nurtured. His grandfather played a major role in furthering his passion in pursuing music. But, just like a ship leaving its harbour, when ripples slowly start to fade, his passion also dimmed momentarily, which found its spark back, as the world hit the pause button. With the commencement of the seemingly unending lockdown, Saptarshi started to rekindle his passion for music by composing numerous melodies in his room, to bed away from the world outside trying to find solace and contentment. Zodiac Wave, with more than 200k monthly listeners on Spotify had become Assam’s first independent artist to spend the highest time being aired on telivision. This man, with his utmost determination has achieved to get featured exclusively on an Indian music channel, bootleg boy and multiple editorial playlists on Spotify and has successfully bagged accolades from several renowned artists for brilliant work in this field. This MV- ‘Hoping They Would Fall’, holds a special place in his heart, as, this is the first time he is making an appearance in one of his own music videos as he portrays a character he resonates with. With a tinge of melancholy, this song impersonates the yearning to go on with their mundane life, while desperately trying to not break the monotony, in an attempt to gain a sense of control. This is about someone who is trying to acknowledge their feelings but also being in denial at the same time trying to exist in reality while coexisting in the world both of them have created.
