JaeDee’s latest single “DilJaan” is the pain of your first heartbreak beautifully expressed by stepping into the lover’s shoes.

Written and composed almost a decade ago by Deepak Gupta, then a young kid facing his first heartbreak, the song Diljaan also ended up being the reason behind the character, the perseverance of now a 30 year old JaeDee, a singer-songwriter, an artist that lives and breathes in Deepak. Diljaan with it’s lyrics will touch the hurting hearts and soothe their unexpressed feelings while at the same time it leaves you with light in your heart that will shine when the right time comes.Just the way it did for the artist himself. Diljaan is not just a song about heartbreak, it is the origin of me being a singer songwriter, and it is the reason behind my growth from all the deepest and darkest alleys of life so far. In Diljaan, hope lives! Hope that is strong enough to take a leap on life and not just crawl through it.
Tell us your inspiration behind this track
Diljaan lyrics can be considered as my journal of experiencing the first heartbreak and denial of love in life. While the composition and the idea behind putting out Diljaan is to celebrate that experience for I believe in the most hardest and toughest times of lives, lies the opportunity to grow and an opportunity to accept a more clearer version of yourself.
How long did it take to record the track \album \EP ?
Diljaan was written and composed in 2012 but I could only release it in 2022. So, a decade long of wait has gone behind bringing the song and the songwriter to its true form. However, no that I have release a couple of tracks and slowly building my audience, not all my songs will have to go through a decade long of waiting to see the light of the day.
What is the meaning behind the lyrics?
My most favorite verse in the song is “Dheere dheere karke teri yaadon se, jo nikle toh baaton mein doobe hum rahe”. I believe that verse summarizes the whole journey of an individual going through some kind of hurt, where you never are able to get out of the loop of reminiscing over the past and that is the loop Diljaan helped me break.
What brings next after this release?
My next release is called Naapaaq Ishq. It comes out on July 8, 2022. Naapaaq Ishq is intense, impactful and important. It is a balladic ode to the pride movement and I cannot wait for the world to experience Naapaaq Ishq.
