Moosa Saleem’s “confide” is a lyrical gem of people becoming victims of their mind’s illusions against the world. Listen Now

Speaking of irresistible and soothing music, there are a very few active artists today who can churn out folk tracks quite like Moosa Saleem. Originally from Kashmir, but based in Mumbai, Moosa is a singer, songwriter, and a music composer, who has always been stunning us with his spectacular releases from “Here For Me”, “I’m a Ghost” to ”If It Was You”, “Duur Se”, and “Ishq Ke Sheher Mein.”

Producing songs from genres like Pop, Contemporary Classical, and House Music, he has now added yet another gem “Confide” that features Jeremiah de Rozario, a singer-songwriter brimming with joie de vivre, as a contributing collaborator. Both, talented and versatile in their own unique ways – together they have produced yet another masterpiece that we’ve ultimately loved listening to, on repeat.

“Confide” talks beautifully about how people often tend to lose sight of things and their sense of identity in this glimmer world. Just like the moon wanes through phases much like we do, we should embrace these phases in our lives without fearing what differences they might bring.

The song, for sure, carries a sentimental, nostalgic vibe commonly found in many disbandment tracks, but consider this as the turning of the page rather than the closing of a book. Call me jaded, but there are truly very few songs that can rouse genuine emotion from this style of song.

As I listen to the song, the music is akin for movies that signpost some of the most sentimental, emotional scenes. The song itself doesn’t matter – it’s all about the connection. The very first few seconds caught my attention. It’s almost like the song draws you towards itself with its satisfying warmth. The melody is relentlessly pleasant, yet rarely compelling.

Been featured on Martin Garrix’s radio show, to Don Diablo playing Moosa’s music at his festival’s performance – the world is unravelling the versatility Moosa Saleem has been sharing with his stunning indie releases back to back. With his avant-garde and experimental music, we’re loving the fact that he doesn’t stick to a particular genre or sound and is always astonishing us with something new every single time he releases a song.

To conclude, this track is a perfect amalgamation of diverse musical influences and styles, great musicianship and that is drawn from day-to-day thematic experiences and thoughts we all go through. It helps the song have a life of its own.
