Sourav Giri’s EP ‘CyanSourav Giri on Cyan: A Musical Journey Through Love and Heartache

Prashant (Findie Editor): So, Sourav, your debut EP Cyan just dropped—congrats! I’ve been listening, and man, it’s got such a raw, heartfelt energy. Tell me, what’s the story behind Cyan?

Sourav Giri: Thanks, Prashant! Yeah, Cyan has been a journey in itself. It’s a collection of five tracks, and each one represents a different phase of a relationship—from that first spark to the inevitable heartbreak and acceptance. The name Cyan just felt right because it’s this in-between color, neither fully blue nor green. Relationships, to me, are like that—filled with contrasting emotions, yet they come together to create something beautiful.

Prashant: Love that perspective! And your sound—there’s such a unique fusion of Indian classical with this global indie-acoustic vibe. Was that intentional, or did it just evolve naturally?

Sourav: A bit of both! I grew up in Kolkata, surrounded by Indian classical influences, but I was also drawn to Western acoustic and indie music. Moving to Mumbai gave me the freedom to explore and blend those styles. I started out doing Bollywood covers, but I knew I wanted to tell my own stories, my way. Cyan is my way of blending all these inspirations into something that feels personal yet relatable.

Prashant: And clearly, people are connecting with it! You’ve been performing across West Bengal and beyond, and you’re already making waves with Zee Music and your independent releases. How does it feel seeing your music reach so many people?

Sourav: Honestly, surreal. Performing live, seeing people react to my music, hearing their personal stories—it’s everything I ever dreamed of. The indie scene in India is evolving, and I’m grateful to be part of it. Every stream, every comment, every person who resonates with my music—it’s a reminder of why I started this journey.

Prashant: It’s inspiring, man. Cyan really takes listeners on an emotional ride, and I think that’s what makes it so special. Before we wrap up, any message for your listeners?

Sourav: Just a huge thank you! Whether you’ve been with me since my cover days or just discovered Cyan, I appreciate you. This EP is a piece of my heart, and I hope it finds a place in yours too.

Prashant: Beautifully said. Here’s to Cyan and to everything that’s coming next. Cheers!
