In a bold and beautiful fusion of spiritual storytelling and electric soundscapes, Kashmiri rock band Space releases their latest single, Mother Yashoda—a deeply moving tribute to one of Hinduism’s most cherished maternal figures.
Mother Yashoda reimagines the ancient bond between Yashoda and Lord Krishna through the lens of raw rock ‘n’ roll energy and soulful melody, creating a track that is both spiritually resonant and musically explosive.

🕊️ Divinity Meets Distortion
Inspired by a moment from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (10.9.21)—when Yashoda binds the mischievous Krishna, not by rope, but by the sheer intensity of her love (prema-bhakti)—Mother Yashoda taps into the timeless idea that true devotion transcends even the cosmic power of gods.
“The sages tell us that Krishna could never be bound by yoga or knowledge, but he allowed himself to be tied by a mother’s love. That idea moved us to the core,” says frontman Surya Ganjoo.
The band distills this profound narrative into a dynamic rock composition, where classic riffs, thumping drums, and haunting vocals mirror both the playfulness of Krishna and the devotional might of Yashoda.
🎙️ Who is Space?
Born amidst the stunning landscapes of Kashmir, Space is not your average indie band. Their music is a spiritual rebellion—an introspective journey through emotion, divinity, and self-expression.
