“Yuaan” single “Mere Ghar Se” is a modern day jazzy romantic track he wrote while in lockdown.

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

In the summer of 2020 when the whole world got locked down, I wrote “Mere Ghar Se” which captured both a lover’s plight as well as the essence of those times in a quirky generic manner but musically, in the form of a funky & catchy track. The music arrangement is a mixture of modern-day music with classic jazz style and the music video has also been shot considering the story and the vibe of the song with a lot of fun moves.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The inspiration was the thought that how 2 lovers or 2 very close friends will feel when they are unable to meet due to a situation like lockdown and due to which, even if they might be close or easily reachable, but still it will feel as if they are very far to each other.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

The lyrics try to point towards 2 things: 1. A lover’s plight – how he is unable to meet his beloved due to the lockdown or some unavaoidable situation: “Mere ghar se tera ghar yuun, door kyun hai door kyun hai, kyun najane kyun, Meri chhat se teri chhat yuun, door kyun hai door kyun hai, kyun najane kyun” And also how he is hoping that the things will be better soon “darmiyaan jo faaslein hai, kuch palo ki bebasi hai” 2. The essence of the conditions around him in a situation like lockdown – “Sari galiyaan hai ruki si, log sare kho gaye hain kyun” “Aasman bhi hai naya sa, sare pancchi laut aaye kyun” (because there was no pollution, the nature was adjusting back to itself, environment started to become more friendly for birds) “Taarikhein ye tham gayi hai, sham subah ek si hai” (because of the monotonicity, every day felt like the same) “Tasveerein to yahan hain, khushbuon ki par kami hai” (even though lovers and everyone was still connected through phones and video calls, but still the human touch was missing)
