“Cursed by the Joy”A single by Anish Kelkar, Riddhi Vikamshi, and Amol Kelkar is a lushy track based in a unsettling tempo to keep you on the edge.

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

This song had its beginning as a poem in 2016. Later was the inspiration for the melody and the lyrics. The song has a soothing vibe and has iconic beats in 6/8 time signature. A different set of arrangement is seen is verse showing the change of both melody and the lyrical topic. The change is from ambient sounds to lush guitars. And as the bridge ends we wee use of stereo bass giving that extra punch to the chorus.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The song takes inspiration from multiple folds. Having gone through a break-up and the seen the same for my friends, I could clearly identify a common aspect and thought about writing the same. The fact that we tend to over do in relationships and this goodness tend to kill everything should be my inspiration. Though everyone can interpret it their own way. That’s the beauty of art.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

3 – 4 months

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

This song talks about a relationship where the boy who asks the girl out is again the person who decides to break up after a few months. The girl who initially hesitant about moving fast eventually falls in love and gets heartbroken after the break up. The girl believes that the joy she got from the relationship cursed the existence of the same. And that’s the gist of the song.

What brings next after this release?

I will be working on some experimental music. I am looking to expand to genres I have never got myself into. Like classical or Marathi songs
