The artist has been playing underground music for over a decade without an active following as he struggles with life-changing trauma and substance abuse issues. The failure that kept the artist in limbo for so long was the click he needed as he channeled all his pain into poetry with impressive flow and composition. The genre-free artist strives to write poems and songs that transcend the boundaries of the hip-hop genre that the industry usually expects from an up-and-coming artist. Tell us your inspiration behind this track
His music connects emotions with people from different walks of life. Songwriter deadpoetmusic is on his A game with the lyric and the way he expresses them on surreal beats is more impressive. The only inspiration behind this EP was was to turn the pain into poetry and having someone who could relate to his unusual circumstances in life.
How long did it take to record the track album EP ?
Been writing songs since 2010 deadpoetmusic formerly went by stage name Beat Salad is a prolific lyricist and his pen skills has been impressive on his recent releases and the same is portrayed on his debut EP ‘The Survival Guide’. The entire EP required almost a year of work as an independent artist to be able to release it independently.
What is the meaning behind the lyrics?
The artist is not limited by the boundaries of a genre and tends to find himself writing poems and songs that crosses the limitations of the hip-hop genre that the industry usually expects from an emerging artist. However the versatility with the pen and his flow has helped him compose songs that reach out to a mass number of listeners from all walks of life and has a impact on every listener in a different way.
