We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

Lafz is aakaar’s second single releasing on 10th March 2023 after getting great response from his first song Kathor. This single is written by aakaar and produced by Bignexx92. Lafz is a song which describes the relationship between a rapper and his words. The song starts off with a struggling writer who is having a hard time coming up with words for his song. The song talks about how an artist sits to write but can’t get his emotions right. He questions the world that says he has talent but he himself can’t see why they think so. He feels that maybe his words and talent have escaped him, or maybe they are just hiding in a deep dark place inside him. Moving on the song stresses on how the artist spends his days lazing around and can’t seem to get out of its hold. He feels like everything around him is questioning his talent and how he wants to write but his own pen isn’t on his side. The song then takes a dive into how an artist get’s his abilities from his parents and his confidence from his fans who at the start are just his friends. Finally the song ends with the artist shutting out all these voices and coming up with a master piece which is here to disrupt the industry. Lafz is a song that provokes thought and gives the listener something to think about. Along with a fun melody it is highly catchy and gets on ones mind in a single listen.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The inspiration came on a very slow day when I was trying to write a verse for a different track and I just couldn’t get myself to do so. Then as I sat there contemplating I just started writing what I was actually going through and that how the first line of the song came about, “Inta kyu hai mushkil, Yeh lafz na nikal rahe” Then there was no looking back.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

This was one of my faster projects. My process usually starts with me writing random stuff on a daily basis and then I end up recording it way into the future. However with LAFZ I wrote this song and coincidently my producer had sent me a random beat to listen to which perfectly blended with the song. Within a week of that I found myself in the studio recording the song which was a 3 hour long session. A week from that I had the master in my hand. Definitely the quickest I have worked in my life.

After this release I have 3 more singles lined up which are recorded and in the mix stage at this moment along with my highly talented producer bignexx92. You guys are going to be seeing a lot of aakaar in the coming months.
