What is digital music distribution?

Distribution is the process of delivering a finished recording and its information to music services. The package includes audio, cover artwork, track titles, artist names, songwriting credits, rights information and your chosen release date. A distributor passes that package to services so listeners can find and play it.

It is separate from recording, promotion and editorial playlist selection. Uploading a song does not guarantee listeners, a playlist placement or acceptance by every store. Spotify explains the distributor's role in its artist getting-started guide.

Reach listeners where they listen.

Findie prepares releases for your selected services through its distribution partner, Too Lost. Choices include Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer and JioSaavn, alongside music use on services such as Instagram and TikTok. Availability can depend on your territories, rights, the partner and each service's requirements.

Use the store and territory selections in your release draft to choose where your music should go. Findie approval means the package has passed our review; it does not mean the recording is already live on those platforms.

Findie's release workspace for preparing a music release
Your release package stays together in the Findie workspace.

From a draft to a reviewed release.

  1. Prepare your package

Create an account, start a draft and upload your finished audio and cover. Add the artist names, credits, rights declarations, release date, stores and territories. Drafts can be saved and edited before submission.

  2. Submit for a human review

Activate an eligible membership when your package is complete, then submit it for Findie review. If a file or detail needs correction, follow the note in your workspace and submit the corrected package.

  3. Follow the partner handoff

Once approved, the Findie team sends the package to the distribution partner for its checks and store processing. Your workspace separates review, approval, partner handoff and confirmed live availability.

One annual plan. Room for your next release.

The Findie annual distribution membership is ₹2,999 per year for unlimited eligible release submissions while your membership is active. Preparing drafts is free; the paid plan is required when submitting a finished package. Every submission still needs valid rights, compliant files and review.

The plan renews annually through Razorpay unless cancelled. Any eligible first-year discount is shown before checkout; subsequent annual renewals return to the regular price. Cancellation stops future renewal, and access continues through the paid period.

Review the membership and published royalty terms before subscribing. Distribution fees, royalty reporting and payout arrangements are different things; a membership payment is not a promise of earnings or a release date.

Give your release time to land.

For artists releasing from India, planning ahead matters as much as the upload. Aim to choose a date at least 21 days ahead. Findie aims for a first review within two business days, but revisions, partner review and store processing can take longer. These are planning targets, not guarantees.

Start with original masters, sharp square cover art and accurate artist details. Confirm that you can distribute every recording and all artwork, including any samples or other licensed material. Our music release checklist walks through the package before you submit.
