“Second Wind” is a vocally emotive and instrumentally pop song. It took fifteen minutes to compose and write the song. As I kept writing, I realised that the song can be much more than just running away. The song focuses on those doubts, the realization and finally, the passage of healing by letting people know that they are not alone on this journey.

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

Second Wind is a vocally emotive and instrumentally pop song. Being on the optimistic and healing side, “Second Wind” talks about pulling yourself out of a toxic situation. As hard as it seems to be, the relief you get after departing from a place that had been diminishing you is huge. With trying to get out of a situation like this comes a lot of conflicts with your own mind and heart. Once you realize it’s unhealthy and that you deserve better, it takes a lot of strength to let go. This song focuses on those doubts, the realization and finally, the passage of healing by letting people know that they are not alone on this journey.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The initial idea of this song was travelling. As I kept writing, I realised that the song can be much more than just running away. Right after the revelation, the theme started heading towards healing. Coming from someone who went on a journey of healing, I understand the ups and downs that come along with it, but for what it’s worth, you will be okay at the end of the day. I hope to convey this with my track.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

It took fifteen minutes to compose and write the song. The producer, Devadathan Nair got back to me soon after the demo was sent. We recorded the track for the first time in November, 2020 and after that, we spent quite a long time perfecting it. Almost two years of alternating between ideas, we finally completed the track in July, 2022.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

The lyrics of “Second Wind” talks about the process of healing. The second verse holds a quote which explains a mild definition of toxicity and then proceeds to speak about how it’s important to let go of such situations, no matter how hard it can get. The choruses express the strength required to come out of a destructive situation and to remind yourself that you are not alone.
