Yellow Taxi’s latest single “Aabroh” is inspired by the vintage kolkata where love sparks beyond the modern ways

We did an interview with the artist over a cup of coffee about this latest release, here’s what they had to say!

Tell us about your track

This is our debut track, ‘Aabrooh’. This track is about this guy coming across a girl and how he falls in love with her but things dont go as planned.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

Well our biggest inspo has been this city, Kolkata. People say they know this city very well but we dont think so. The way we perceived love in and around the city everywhere we went is what really helped us come up with track.

How long did it take to record the track album EP ?

It took us about a month to sit and jam and just figure out as to what more can we do with it. Then we went on to record it and everything took like about another month or so and it finally came out on the 19.1.23.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

‘AABROOH’ means dignity in urdu. So when a man or woman falls in love with their respective partners, they become each other’s ‘AABROOH’. They would go to extreme lengths to express their love for each other and protect each other’s aabrooh or as a matter of fact, anything they love or hold super close to their hearts. This is our debut track and i hope people like it!

Well we’ve got a couple of tracks lined up next. The next one is an english one which is going to be known as ‘Hey Zo’.
