Aysee’s song “Knowledge” is a full vibe with meme references and dope Latin samples. Listen Now

Tell us about your track

Knowledge is a fun, charismatic hiphop track that listeners can put on and vibe with. The instrumental has Latin influences, as well as a fun Latin sample to it. An old 2016 meme sample was added to the beat for the intro and to act as a transition between the 3 verses . The first 2 verses are more fun, charismatic and catchy, while the 3rd is a bit more serious in terms of substance while still retaining both the charisma and the thematic consistency of the track.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

The inspiration for knowledge simply stems from experimenting with different sounds, combining ‘crazy’ ideas with the goal of coming out with an enjoyable product.

How long did it take to record the track \album \EP ?

About 3 days for the vocals, and a week to arrange all the effects and samples

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

Topically, the song gets more honest and real as it progresses, The first 2 verses are more to do with the general vibe and energy of the track but the third (and last) verse connects the previous two verses, talking a little deeper about the real reasons for what has been talked about in verse 1 and 2, for instance the fixation on money, or getting money throughout the song, is given more context by lines ‘Take you to back, when, Daddy wasn’t getting a bag, and, Mommy was scraping for scraps, only, Right that I’m making my stack.’ The next lines ‘They, think that I’m moving too fast’ and ‘How, I’m moving they think I’ll relapse’ are in reference to a double entendre at the ending of the second verse which goes ‘Aysee be so cold he got it snowing in the rain or maybe I’m hallucinating papers got me all insane’ which is a subtle reference to drug abuse, with the specific words ‘Snow’ (Meaning literal snow and cocaine) and ‘Papers’ (Meaning money and LSD) the song is essentially alluding to making this music and chasing the ‘bag’ as coping mechanisms to get away from dangerous habbits. Although these things barely come off when listening to, and that is how I intended it to be.

What brings next after this release?

In terms of releasing music I have my year planned out, till around December, More singles dropping every 4-5 weeks, more features, more collaborations from abroad and in India.
