Inspirations such as “AC/DC” and “Arctic Monkeys” artist ‘Chiara Maria’s single “Wish me well” is a tale curated into a beautiful melody.

Tell us about your track

Wish me well is a song that I wrote for valentine’s day, especially for those spending it without a valentine. It takes you on a journey from the frustration of spending that day alone to the acceptance that you can give yourself all the love you deserve, buy yourself flowers and wish you well yourself.

Tell us your inspiration behind this track

I was inspired by my own experience after many, many valentine’s day spent alone. It helped me express my frustration and discover how much I can love myself. For the production, I wanted to take inspiration from the rock bands that I listen to from AC/DC to Arctic Monkeys to give this song a more Pop/Rock sound. That’s also why I only used three instruments an electric guitar, a bass and drums without overdoing it.

How long did it take to record the track \album \EP ?

It took a couple months, I worked on it on and off. I did all the production myself trying to give each instrument rich lines but keeping the whole of it simple.

What is the meaning behind the lyrics?

The first verse represents the stage of denial, maybe this time I’ll receive flowers or chocolates or whatever. Then the chorus breaks that fantasy introducing the idea that you can give yourself those things. The second verse goes back to denial accepting that I don’t have anybody but pretending that I don’t need anybody so I don’t care. The bridge is the definite turning point of the song, there’s no more denial, no more frustration I know that I can love myself.

What brings next after this release?

I would love to make an EP or even an album, so I think that’ll be coming in the future.
